Four Steps to Drive Change
Driving change is different than delivering content. This might seem obvious, but if you want to see behaviours change from a learning program, people need to connect to the content in a meaningful way.
A change system that engages people and helps them want to be a part of that change will have far greater impact.
Think about using these 4 steps to improve the impact of your learning program.
👓Insight – get really clear on how people are currently acting, speaking, behaving and how you want that to be different after the training.
📖Content – deliver bite-sized, high-quality information that clearly connects to the expected changes in behaviour.
🪧Context – allow space for people to absorb and apply this knowledge to their own situations.
🎬Action – provide them with a structure to commit to actions that will move the needle on what you want to see.
Don’t just check a box on new content. Dig into what outcomes you really want. What kind of impact do you want to achieve and what behaviours will support that result?
When it comes to inspiring action from new learning, context will trump content every time.
