Leadership = Creating Habits that have Impact
I've said this before, but if you know me, you know I love to dance. I set an intention to get more dancing in this year.
I recently acquired a stand-up desk. Who would have thought that would have been the catalyst to dance more?
Wow, does it ever make me happy. Like, pure joy. This blurry picture captures it all. I can't stand still when my tunes are playing.
I've been able to build dancing right into my daily routine while I'm still getting work done!
Sticking to a new habit is easy when you create the right conditions.
1. Make it obvious. I'm at my standing desk.
2. Make it attractive. I love to dance.
3. Make it easy. I have a great playlist.
4. Make it satisfying. I'm enjoying the dancing while still getting work done. (Also, joy, exercise and helping my creativity flow.
What new habits are you trying to fit into your routine? How can you use these tips to make it easier for a new habit to stick with minimal effort? What needs to shift in your leadership to have a more significant impact on you and your team? Where might your team benefit from this structure?
Kodaline is my inspiration today. Join me for some dancing time.
